Today, my DH had a little surprise when I got home from work : he bought us a breadmaker! We talked about this a lot lately because the prices are going nuts here : 2 € for a simple white bread, that's $2.64. I have no clue how much you have to pay but after talking with friends this weekend who own a bread machine, my husband decided it was time to buy one too. This is a pic of our very first home made "machine" bread!
I had to turn it a little to take my photo because the other side is already missing : we had to taste it of course! We all love it!
The breadmaker is already making a second one: it's like a new toy, LOL! This time my DH is trying to make an Italian bread with olive oil.
It's so funny, we have a bread machine but only use it on the holidays. I should dust it off and use it more often. I LOVE the smell of fresh baked bread in the house. MMMMMMMM too bad we don't have scratch and sniff on our computers!! Your loaf looks yummy!

ReplyDeleteWe pay around $5.00 a loaf for bread so I started making my own a while ago. The favorite right now is sourdough. I used to have a bread machine, but it quit on me so I just do it the old fashioned way now. Hope you enjoy many many loaves from your new toy!

ReplyDeleteThis is one thing that we will be getting with our tax refund this year. My dad swears by his and said that he will take me out to get the right machine. I will probably spend very little I plan on going to second hand shop. I want to make sure we use it before I purchase new. I love the smell of fresh bread.
